TL;DR. AppFollow’s Free tier ($0) covers 2 apps, 500 keywords, and 10 competitors with unlimited team members, checked on appfollow.io/pricing on 12 September 2026. Komori charges a flat $19.99/month (or $199.99/year) for one native macOS app with no keyword cap at all, checked the same day on komori.tech. Past 500 keywords, Komori is the cheaper option by a wide margin. If you need Google Play coverage or more than one seat, AppFollow is the only one of the two that offers either.

AppFollow and Komori don’t really compete for the same buyer — AppFollow is a browser-based ASO and review-management platform built for teams, Komori is a native Mac app built for one developer tracking one App Store listing. But they show up on the same shortlists because both let a solo iOS developer start tracking keywords today without a sales call. We checked appfollow.io/pricing and komori.tech directly on 12 September 2026 to confirm the figures below.

Which one is cheaper for tracking keywords?

It depends entirely on volume. AppFollow’s Free tier is $0 and covers 500 keywords — genuinely free, not a trial. Komori has no free tier (only a 3-day trial) but charges one flat $19.99/month for unlimited keywords, no matter how many you track.

Free tierYes — $0, 2 apps, 500 keywords, 10 competitors, unlimited users, 7-day historyNo (3-day free trial only)
Entry paid tierStandalone ASO add-on — $19/month (2 apps, 500 keywords, 30 competitors)$19.99/month (one tier, all features)
Mid tierEssential — $179/month ($129/mo billed annually): 5 apps, 3,000 keywords, 100 competitors, 365-day history— (same $19.99 tier)
Top self-serve tierTeam — $599/month ($425/mo billed annually): 10 apps, 9,000 keywords, 250 competitors, full history, adds Microsoft/Xbox/Amazon— (same $19.99 tier)
Annual discountUp to ~29% off, varies by tier$199.99/year (~17% off monthly)
Keyword capYes, scales by tier (500 → 9,000)None at any price
SeatsUnlimited on every tier, including FreeNot published on the $19.99 tier; “team & company licensing” only mentioned under custom Enterprise
PlatformsApp Store + Google Play on every tier; Team adds Microsoft, Xbox, Amazon; Enterprise adds Samsung, HuaweiApp Store (iOS) only — no Android or Google Play mentioned anywhere on the site
EnterpriseCustom (contact sales)Custom (contact sales)

Past 500 keywords, the math flips hard: AppFollow’s Essential tier is $129/month (billed annually) for 3,000 keywords, while Komori is still $19.99/month for as many keywords as you want to add. If your keyword list is large and you don’t need Google Play or teammates, Komori is the cheaper tool by a wide margin once you’re past what AppFollow’s Free or ASO-addon tiers cover.

What does each tool actually do?

AppFollow, per its pricing page: keyword tracking, competitor tracking, and rating/review monitoring at every tier, with Essential adding automated review translation, an AI support agent, downloads-by-keyword reporting, and CSV/Excel export, and Team layering on executive reporting, semantic tags, and coverage for Microsoft, Xbox, and Amazon storefronts on top of App Store and Google Play.

Komori, per its own site and App Store listing: AI-tuned keyword suggestions (“Keyword Edge”), real-time rank tracking with 30-day history, unlimited competitor comparison (“Competitor Smackdown”), and review-sentiment analytics across 90+ countries. It’s distributed as a native macOS app on the Mac App Store — there’s no web dashboard, and it also lists a $499.99 lifetime purchase option on its App Store listing that doesn’t appear on the komori.tech pricing page itself.

Neither vendor’s pricing page describes pushing a title, subtitle, or keyword-field change back to App Store Connect — both are research-and-tracking products, the same scope gap we found comparing AppFollow and Sensor Tower and Komori and MobileAction.

Does either one cover Android?

AppFollow does, on every tier — its own feature-comparison table lists both App Store and Google Play as “available” data sources from Free through Enterprise. Komori doesn’t mention Google Play or Android anywhere on its site or App Store listing; it’s built specifically for the Apple App Store. If any part of your portfolio ships on Android, Komori isn’t an option for that half of the business at any price.

Which one publishes more about seats and team access?

AppFollow, clearly. Its comparison table states “Unlimited” team members on every tier, including Free — a real differentiator if you’re bringing in a contractor or co-founder. Komori’s $19.99/month tier doesn’t mention seats at all; the only tier that references team access is the custom Enterprise plan, described only as “team & company licensing” with no seat number attached. If you need a second person logged in, AppFollow gives you a self-serve answer today; Komori doesn’t.

Which one should a solo developer with one app pick?

If 500 keywords genuinely covers your app, AppFollow’s Free tier is the easy call — it costs nothing and already includes 10 tracked competitors and unlimited team members if you bring someone on later. If you’re tracking well beyond 500 keywords and don’t need Google Play, Komori’s flat $19.99/month with no cap is cheaper than any paid AppFollow tier that would cover the same volume.

Which one should a growing studio pick?

AppFollow, mainly because Komori doesn’t publish a self-serve path to more apps, more seats, or Android coverage — any of that requires contacting sales. AppFollow’s Team tier ($425/month billed annually) gives you 10 apps, 9,000 keywords, and unlimited seats on a published price, plus coverage across Microsoft, Xbox, and Amazon storefronts if your catalog extends past mobile.

The short version

  • Genuinely free tier: AppFollow — $0 for 2 apps, 500 keywords, 10 competitors, unlimited users
  • No keyword cap at any price: Komori — $19.99/month flat, checked on komori.tech
  • Only one with Google Play coverage: AppFollow, on every tier
  • Only one that publishes unlimited seats: AppFollow — every tier, including Free
  • Cheapest way to track thousands of keywords: Komori, once you’re past what AppFollow’s Free or $19/month ASO add-on covers

Where Marteso fits, and where it doesn’t

Full disclosure: Marteso is our product, so weigh this like any vendor’s self-description. Marteso tracks keywords, generates AI-assisted suggestions for title, subtitle, keywords, and description, and — per its own docs, checked 12 September 2026 — lets you push approved suggestions directly to App Store Connect via a “Push to ASC” action, without manual copy-paste. Pricing is transparent on the site: a free Starter tier (2 apps, 50 keywords per app, 3 competitors per app, daily rank updates) and Pro at €18 per app/month (unlimited apps, 500 keywords, unlimited competitors, AI metadata optimizer). It’s iOS-only, with no documented Google Play support and no seat-count publishing of its own, so it doesn’t match AppFollow’s Google Play coverage or unlimited-seats claim, and it doesn’t match Komori’s uncapped keyword volume at a flat price. If the job is tracking iOS rankings and getting a metadata change live without leaving the tool, that’s what Marteso is built around.
