TL;DR. Komori is a native macOS app that costs $19.99/month flat, tracks unlimited keywords, and covers iOS only. Appfigures is a web dashboard that starts at $9.99/month but needs the $44.99/month Monitor tier or higher to match Komori’s daily rank tracking, and it also covers Android. If you’re solo, iOS-only, and want one flat price, Komori wins on value. If you ship on both platforms or want download/revenue analytics alongside keyword data, Appfigures is the better fit — but expect to pay more to get there.

If you’re an indie iOS developer narrowing down an ASO tool, Komori and Appfigures show up on the same shortlists for different reasons: Komori because it’s cheap, iOS-focused, and keyword-first; Appfigures because it’s been around since 2010 and covers both stores. They’re not really the same category of product, which makes them worth comparing directly rather than burying them in a six-tool roundup.

Neither of us — Marteso — makes either of these tools, so there’s no reason to shade this one way or the other. Everything below is checked against Komori’s and Appfigures’ own public sites on 12 August 2026. Where a vendor doesn’t publish a number, we say so instead of guessing.

Which one is cheaper?

For a single iOS app, Komori is cheaper the moment you need daily rank tracking: $19.99/month flat versus Appfigures’ $44.99/month Monitor tier. Appfigures’ entry price is lower ($9.99/month Connect), but that tier caps you at 25 tracked keywords and skips daily updates — you’ll likely outgrow it fast.

Appfigures’ pricing scales in five tiers — Connect ($9.99), Monitor ($44.99), Optimize ($149.99), Boost ($599.99), and Amplify ($1,399.99) — each unlocking more keywords, more premium competitor slots, and features like Apple Ads Intelligence and market trend reports. Komori has one paid tier at $19.99/month with no keyword cap. If your entire budget is “one flat number I don’t have to think about again,” Komori is structurally simpler. If you want a growth path from a free-ish plan up to enterprise-grade competitive intelligence, Appfigures gives you that ladder — at a price that climbs fast past the second tier.

What does each tool actually do?

Komori is a keyword-and-rank tool built specifically for iOS. Appfigures is a cross-platform analytics and ASO dashboard that treats keyword tracking as one module among several.

Komori (native macOS app, Mac App Store):

  • Unlimited keyword tracking with AI-suggested keywords scored by difficulty and popularity
  • Daily automated rank checks with 30-day trend charts
  • Competitor analysis: side-by-side comparison, keyword overlap, top-3 competitor tracking per keyword
  • Review monitoring across 90+ countries with AI sentiment analysis and CSV export
  • ASO Score (0–100) and App Store Charts (top 50 apps across 33 countries, 25+ categories)

Appfigures (web dashboard, iOS + Android):

  • Keyword rank tracking, hourly on higher tiers, across countries and both app stores
  • Keyword translation — translating your existing keywords for other locales
  • Download, revenue, subscription, and ad-spend analytics (this is Appfigures’ original product and still its strength)
  • Competitor keyword discovery, including via Apple Ads Intelligence on higher tiers
  • Reviews & Ratings module with reply capability, not just monitoring

Neither tool edits your title, subtitle, or keyword field and pushes it to App Store Connect — both are research-and-tracking tools, not metadata-submission tools. Neither ships a screenshot generation pipeline (Komori has a screenshot export tool for grabbing competitor screenshots, which is different from generating your own localized set). If your workflow needs to end in “and now it’s live on App Store Connect,” you’ll be pasting into ASC by hand either way.

Which one should a solo developer with one iOS app pick?

Komori, in most cases. At $19.99/month with unlimited keyword tracking and no per-app pricing creep, it’s the simpler bet for someone tracking one app’s rankings and competitors without also needing download/revenue analytics.

The exception: if you already use Appfigures (or a similar tool) for revenue and download analytics and just want to add ASO on top, staying in one dashboard at $44.99/month for Monitor may cost less in context-switching than running two separate tools, even if the sticker price is higher.

Which one should a studio shipping on iOS and Android pick?

Appfigures, because Komori doesn’t cover Android at all — it’s a deliberate, disclosed iOS-only product built as a native macOS app. If any part of your portfolio is on Google Play, Komori simply isn’t an option for that half of your business, and you’d need a second tool regardless of price.

For a two-platform studio, the real decision is which Appfigures tier you need: Monitor ($44.99/month) covers daily rank updates and review monitoring; Optimize ($149.99/month) adds hourly tracking, real-time keyword analysis, and a premium competitor slot. Most indie studios won’t need Boost or Amplify — those tiers are built for teams running Apple Ads Intelligence and market trend reporting at a scale small studios don’t operate at yet.

What’s genuinely missing from both?

Metadata editing with a direct App Store Connect write-back, and a screenshot generation pipeline. Both tools tell you what’s happening with your rankings and reviews; neither one lets you act on that data without leaving the tool. That’s not a knock on either product — it’s a scope decision both vendors made, and it’s consistent with what they publish.

If that gap is the actual blocker for you — you want keyword research, rank tracking, and the ability to push a metadata change to App Store Connect from the same place — that’s the workflow Marteso is built around, and it’s worth a look alongside these two. Full disclosure: this is our own product, so weigh that as you would any vendor’s self-description. We’ve also written up how Marteso stacks up against Komori directly and against Appfigures, and a broader roundup — the six ASO tools indie iOS developers actually evaluate — if you want the full field before deciding.

The short version

  • One iOS app, tight budget, want simple pricing: Komori, $19.99/month, unlimited keywords
  • iOS + Android, or you want revenue/download analytics alongside ASO: Appfigures, starting at $44.99/month for daily tracking
  • You want research and tracking to end in a metadata change on App Store Connect, not a dashboard: neither tool does this today — check a tool built around that workflow, like Marteso
