TL;DR. AppFollow’s pricing page lists four self-serve tiers, checked on appfollow.io/pricing on 6 September 2026: Free ($0, 2 apps, 500 keywords, 10 competitors, unlimited users), a standalone ASO add-on ($19/month, same 2-app/500-keyword limits but 30 competitors), Essential ($129/month billed annually, 5 apps, 3,000 keywords, 100 competitors), and Team ($425/month billed annually, 15 apps, 9,000 keywords, 250 competitors), plus a custom Enterprise tier. Sensor Tower has no self-serve pricing at all — its /pricing URL now redirects straight to a demo-booking page, confirmed the same day on sensortower.com. If you want a number before a sales call, that decision is already made.

If you’ve narrowed a search down to these two, you’re actually comparing two different kinds of product wearing similar marketing copy — AppFollow is a self-serve ASO and review-management tool built for teams that want to sign up and start today, Sensor Tower is a market-intelligence platform that estimates downloads and revenue for apps you don’t own, sold entirely through sales conversations. We checked appfollow.io/pricing and sensortower.com directly on 6 September 2026 to confirm the figures below.

Which one actually publishes prices?

AppFollow does, in full, on its pricing page. Sensor Tower doesn’t publish a single number anywhere on its site.

What do you actually get for AppFollow’s published price?

Free covers keyword tracking (500 keywords across 2 apps), competitor tracking (10 apps), review and rating monitoring, an AI review-reply assistant, and unlimited team members — genuinely usable for a single shipping developer, not a crippled trial. The $19/month ASO add-on is a narrower option for developers who only want keyword and competitor tracking without AppFollow’s review-management tooling, at the same 2-app/500-keyword ceiling as Free but with a higher 30-competitor cap.

Essential is the realistic upgrade once you outgrow Free: 5 apps, 3,000 keywords, 100 competitors, automated review translation, CSV/Excel export, and 365-day historical data. Team adds AI-driven exec reporting, semantic tagging, advanced monitoring agents, and support for Microsoft, Xbox, and Amazon app stores on top — clearly aimed at a multi-app studio or agency, not a solo developer.

What does Sensor Tower actually sell, if not a keyword tracker?

Its core product, App Performance Insights, estimates downloads, revenue, revenue-per-download, active users, and sessions for apps you don’t own — competitive intelligence, not a dashboard for your own listing. Sensor Tower’s site also lists separate modules sold the same custom-quote way: App Advertising Insights (ad-spend share of voice), Pathmatics (cross-channel ad tracking across Meta, TikTok, X, YouTube), Gaming Insights for genre-specific benchmarking, Audience Insights, Web Insights, and a Sensor Tower MCP server for AI workflow integration.

None of that is keyword tracking for your own app in the way AppFollow’s entire product is built. If your actual job is “what’s my app ranking for, and what should my next metadata update say,” Sensor Tower isn’t really competing for that job — it’s answering a different question about a different set of apps.

Neither vendor’s site describes writing a metadata change — title, subtitle, keyword field — back to App Store Connect or Google Play Console. Both are research-and-reporting layers; you still make the change yourself, the same gap we found comparing AppFollow and MobileAction and Sensor Tower and MobileAction.

Which one should a solo developer pick?

If you’re tracking your own app’s keyword rankings and a handful of competitors, AppFollow’s Free tier does that today, for $0, with no sales call and no credit card. There’s no equivalent way to try Sensor Tower without booking a demo, and no way to know in advance what it will cost — a real barrier if you’re comparing options on a lunch break rather than scheduling a call.

The one case for picking up the phone anyway: you need download or revenue estimates for apps you don’t own — sizing a category before entering it, or benchmarking a competitor’s install trend rather than just its keywords. Nothing in AppFollow’s tiers replicates that at any price, published or otherwise.

The short version

  • Want a number without talking to anyone: AppFollow — $0 gets you 2 apps, 500 keywords, 10 competitors, unlimited users
  • Pricing page that no longer has pricing on it: Sensor Tower — /pricing redirects to /demo
  • Need download/revenue estimates for apps you don’t own: that’s Sensor Tower’s actual product; AppFollow doesn’t attempt it
  • Budget-conscious solo developer tracking your own rankings: AppFollow Free, or MobileAction’s $15/month Lite tier if you want a paid tier with more headroom from day one
  • Want research to end in a live App Store Connect update, not a dashboard: neither tool does this today

Where Marteso fits, and where it doesn’t

Full disclosure: Marteso is our product, so weigh this like any vendor’s self-description. Marteso connects to App Store Connect, tracks keywords, and generates AI-assisted metadata suggestions for title, subtitle, keywords, and description that you review and push yourself — verified against marteso.com and marteso.com/docs on 6 September 2026. Pricing is transparent: a free Starter tier (1 app, 50 keywords, 3 competitor apps, daily rank updates) and Pro at €18 per app/month (unlimited apps, 500 keywords, unlimited competitor apps, AI metadata optimizer). It’s iOS-only, with no documented Google Play support, and it has no equivalent to Sensor Tower’s third-party download and revenue estimates for apps you don’t own. If competitive market intelligence across a category is the actual job, that’s Sensor Tower’s lane; if the job is tracking your own iOS rankings and drafting the next metadata change, that’s ours and AppFollow’s.
